History

On January 1, 2008, RMDS became the successor to Rocky Mountain Tariff Bureau, Inc. (RMB) which dissolved at the end of 2007   In 1983 RMB developed the format concept of tariffs based on five digit U.S. Postal Codes as well as formula driven class rate scales. In addition, the RatesALL PC Rating engine developed by RMB was a pioneer in the market.

Using this time proven format, RMDS will publish individual tariffs and products that name class rates and rules for interstate, intra-state and international shipments as well as other products and services related to the transportation industry. Most products are available in PC Application, data CD and tape, and paper formats.

RMDS will continue to  publish Division Sheet D-83, for division the of revenue on joint-line shipments, first developed by RMB. Currently, over 300 carriers participate in the use of D-83 for division of revenue. Using ZIP codes and Canadian Postal Codes for origin, interchange, and destination points, this product provides carriers with an easy to use guide for revenue division. Division Sheet D-83 is available in an easy to use PC Product (SplitsALL), data CD and tape, and paper formats.
